New: gas analysis of formaldehyde leakage from countertops for IKEA suppliers

The Timber Research Institute is now allowing its customers to assess the level of formaldehyde leakage from wood-based panels in its accredited laboratory. The new test equipment analyses the formaldehyde leakage rate of wood-based panels according to EN ISO 12460-3 Wood-based panels – Determination of formaldehyde leakage – Part 3: Gas analysis method. This method is mainly used for plywood and laminated boards, for which this method is used to prove their safety.

The test is required for the certification of these products and also for the supply of products to the IKEA chain.
